SpaceBridge’s Latest Updates : Successful Delivery and New Partnership
SpaceBridge has delivered a Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) network to connect 2,000 locations in Oman, the company announced Oct. 26.
SpaceBridge worked with Space Communication Technologies (SCT), owned by the government of Oman. SpaceBridge delivered its multiple spot beam (MSB) Ka-band broadband VSAT Network, with the WaveSwitch multi-waveform platform. In addition, the network uses Arabsat capacity to serve communities, enterprises, mobile network operators, maritime, and government and military entities.
The company said that the network remained connected during Cyclone Shaheen in October. In fact, it remained connected despite widespread flooding and heavy rain and winds.
Separately, SpaceBridge also announced a technology partnership with XipLink on Oct. 26. XipLink will integrate its 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G RAN and L2/VLAN optimization software into SpaceBridge’s U7780 and U7800 satellite modems to provide high efficiency bandwidth on demand. Furthermore, the companies said that integrating these software solutions will provide scalable capacity and allow mobile network operators to dynamically share bandwidth for backhaul solutions.
